From the General Manager
Bring your picnic basket to Moonbrook Park and join the fun on Saturday, October 8th from 10am until 2pm at the StillWaters “Picnic in the Park”. There will be a chili cooking contest, music, Auburn University Canine Sciences demonstration, Lake Martin Raptor Center will have their owls at the park, a bounce house, and a large inflatable slide for the children. The StillWaters Volunteer Fire Department will be giving rides on the fire truck starting at 12 noon. I look forward to seeing everyone at the park.
StillWaters Residential Association has partnered with StillWaters Golf Club for the golf club to cut and maintain the roadside and common area grass in StillWaters. The turf grass knowledge and experience of the StillWaters Golf Club staff will help improve the grass along the roadsides and common areas of our community. Improving the grounds of our community helps maintain and increase property values. We look forward to a long productive partnership that benefits all of the StillWaters community.
The landscaped areas of StillWaters which are around the entrance gates, park, SWRA Centre, and other areas will now be maintained by A2Z Land Creations. A2Z has maintained the grounds of several condominium complexes in StillWaters. They are very familiar with the high standards SWRA requires when it comes to maintaining and improving the landscaped areas of our community.
Gate 34 (aka the back gate) was inoperable for eight weeks. The gate operating system had to be replaced. The gate is now operational but the new electronic card reader for new operating system does not have the receiver range that everyone was accustomed to with the old operating system. The old card reader system was no longer available.
Property owners with the electronic cards must now touch their electronic card to the card reader (gray square box) before the back gate will open. Owners of transmitters may have noticed that their transmitters will open the gate much sooner than the old system. The new system transmitter signal reception is stronger than the old system. Transmitters are available for purchase at the SWRA main office. The cost of a transmitter is $50, the annual gate service fee is the same for transmitters and electronic cards.
StillWaters property owners are always welcome to attend all SWRA board meetings. The meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month starting at 9am in the SWRA Centre. Property owners can also receive a copy of the board meeting minutes via email. If you would like to receive the board meeting minutes, contact Kevin Eason at the SWRA office 256-825-2990.
It is officially the Fall season, which means lower temperatures and more time to enjoy more outdoor activities in StillWaters. The fall season is the perfect time of the year to play a round of golf at StillWaters Golf Club or take a walk to view the beautiful scenery as the leaves change color. Make time during the month of October to get out of the house and enjoy our beautiful community.
