From the General Manager
The annual StillWaters Residential Association meeting will be Saturday, March 11th beginning at 10am in the SWRA Centre Community Room located at 1816 StillWaters Drive. All SWRA members in good standing are encouraged to attend the meeting. This is an excellent opportunity for members to learn what SWRA accomplished last year and what is planned for the coming year. I hope you make an extra effort to attend this year’s meeting.
The 2017 SWRA budget is printed in this newsletter. The board treasurer, Mike Dollar, will discuss the 2017 budget at the annual meeting. Please make sure you review the budget. You can contact the SWRA office if you have any questions.
If you are a board member of either a homeowners or condominium association or someone that has been thinking about becoming a board member of an association, make sure you read the article in this newsletter about the board member course that SWRA is offering in May. This course is a great opportunity for current board members and potential board members to learn what is expected of them. Non-current board members must be recommended by their association board president.
I have received several inquiries concerning this year’s road paving and drainage project. The Roads Committee is scheduled to meet with the engineer in March and they will formulate a proposed scope of work to present to the SWRA Board. The Roads Committee works hard to try and repair as many roads as possible while staying within the confines of the SWRA budget. The road and drainage project is usually scheduled for the first part of the summer. I will have more information in a future newsletter after the scope of work is finalized.
A new full service hair salon will be opening in the StillWaters Welcome Centre on March 6th. Now residents can get their hair cut or styled without having to leave StillWaters. Make your next hair appointment with Stillwaters Family Hair Care by calling 334-235-9192.
StillWaters location on the east side of Lake Martin makes it very convenient to visit several local attractions that are within a one or two hour drive. Callaway Gardens is just across the Georgia State line, Auburn University is about 30 minutes south, the Montgomery Zoo is less than an hour away, just to name a few great road trips that are within an easy drive of StillWaters. The StillWaters Welcome Centre has brochures, directions, and even money saving coupons to several of the area attractions. Make it your first stop when planning a day trip.
Kevin Eason, General Manager
Although StillWaters Residential Association is not a Developer, its Board will: (a) preserve and improve where possible StillWaters' infrastructure and (b) preserve and protect StillWaters' residential areas and home values of its residents through an orderly and efficient administration of the Covenants.
