From the Covenants and Maintenance Manager:

I hope that everyone is enjoying the swimming pool this season.  It is getting a lot of usage all through the week.  Please review the pool rules on the sign mounted on the pool house wall.  Be especially aware of the rules requiring all children to be potty trained or wear waterproof swim diapers.  Also bathers with diarrhea, skin disease, open lesions, etc. must not use the pool.  We had an incident last month concerning a baby with diarrhea.  This caused a pool closure until the water could be treated in accordance with the state health department protocol.  This, of course, caused an inconvenience as well as a health risk to the rest of the users of the pool.  Please respect the rules as they were posted for the health and welfare of everyone. The new gate locking system is only as good as you make it.  Please do not let anyone in who does not have a card.  Please report any infractions of the rules to the office and we will handle the problem.

I have been asked by several of the walkers at the park to restate the walking track distances.

Here they are:

                                  Long Track  690’ = .13 miles or approx. 7 ½ laps = 1 mile

                                     Short Track 593’ = .11 miles or approx. 9 laps = 1 mile

For you evening walkers the park lights stay on until 10PM.  The restrooms are locked from approximately 9:30PM until 5:30AM every day in accordance with shift changes.  Have fun and drink plenty of water.

As you have probably seen if you travel Lakeview Ridge, the drainage work has begun.  The first of several  major projects was the new culvert under the road at the Church of the Living Waters, which was completed in mid-July.  The old culvert was rusted out and the flow was restricted to the point where a heavy rainfall would flood the church’s parking lot and cause a torrent of water crossing Lakeview Ridge. Projects will continue through the fall season.  Please watch for workers and detours.

The road patching should start this month as soon as the bids come in.  We will not do any new paving or   overlaying of our streets this year due to most of the budgeted funds for roads being allocated to addressing multiple drainage issues.  Once again, be aware of workers on the streets and slow down for them.

August means the start of school again and school buses on our streets.  Please remember to stop in both  directions when a school bus is stopped to either deliver or pickup children.  It’s the law.

My last item this month concerns pets roaming through the neighborhoods.  You may love your pet like you love your children, but that may not be the case with your neighbors. The chief complaint this summer has been about neighborhood dogs roaming throughout the neighborhood soiling other neighbor’s lawns and barking.  Even though StillWaters does not have a leash law, we do have a covenant that states that it is a   violation to cause any offensive activity that causes annoyance or nuisance to the neighborhood. So please keep your animals in your yards or restrict them from becoming a problem for your neighbors.
